Please join us for Vancouver Pride 2011
Each year, Vancouver's Pride Parade gets more spectacular and more crowded. Last year over 650,000 people lined the streets for Western Canada's largest celebration of the LGBTTQ community. As Vancouver Pride celebrates its 33rd year, expect more fabulous floats, more elaborate costumes and an even greater number of people filling the streets of Vancouver with Pride! The 150 parade entries include colourful floats, musical marching bands, community groups and thousands of spectators. Pride takes over the streets and rainbows fill our city at the largest one day event in Vancouver. This is the MUST SEE event of the summer!
Union activists are encouraged to participate in the Multi-Union Pride entry in the Pride parade.
The BCGEU marches with Multi-Union Pride to demonstrate our commitment to the inclusion of all workers within our diverse movement. Anyone wishing to join the union contingent in the Vancouver Pride Parade should gather in Section ‘C’ on Thurlow between Robson and Haro - Entry #53. All marchers must arrive at the float by 11:45 am.
For further information, please contact George Tomlinson at Multi-Union Pride through Facebook, by email or by phone at 778-789-6543.
The 2011 Pride Parade begins at Robson and Thurlow and travels through the downtown core, along Denman Street and ends at the Sunset Beach Pride Festival and Beer Garden.
