BCGEU Equity & Human Rights Conference

At the last BCGEU Convention delegates voted in favour of the constitutional change noted below:

Article 9.9 (a)(vii) equity and human rights committee

The equity and human rights committee will consist of two members from each designated equity groups (aboriginal; workers of colour; gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender; and workers with disabilities) who shall be elected at an Equity & Human Rights Conference.

The BCGEU Equity and Human Rights Conference  "Rise-up and Reboot" will be taking place June 1 and 2, 2014 at the Westin Bayshore. The conference will include workshops, speakers and  special guests.  All members who identify as an  equity member are invited to attend. Elections will take place during the conference for two members for each of the identified groups to represent their equity  network at the Provincial Executive Equity and Human Rights Committee.

This will help us process your leave and travel arrangements.   When filling in your leave requirements, please keep in mind that accommodation out-of-town members will be booked starting May 31st for 2 nights. In-town participants, are entitled to a room on Sunday, June 1st as there is a social that evening.  Please indicate on your registration, if you require a room that night.
