BCGEU at Copenhagen

BCGEU at CopenhagenBCGEU vice president Lorene Oikawa is in Copenhagen for COP15, the United Nations conference on climate change. Oikawa representing BCGEU-NUPGE is a member of the Public Services International delegation. "It's important that labour is here so we can talk about taking action and ensuring a just transition towards a more sustainable society. One which includes quality public services, green decent jobs and reducing poverty," says Oikawa. She also expressed strong concerns about the lack of access for civil society representatives. "Action on climate change requires the voices and participation of all people. Trade unions and other civil society organizations have had and continue to have a major role in the fight against climate change."
