BCGEU report submitted to children & youth committee

The BCGEU has today submitted its report on child poverty to the legislative Select Standing Committee on Children and Youth.

The union takes the position B.C. needs a comprehensive and accountable poverty reduction plan if it’s to effectively address child poverty in the province.

BCGEU members protect children at risk, work at child care centres and with vulnerable children and youth, administer provincial income assistance, provide health and community social services to families, work in youth forensic psychiatric services and in the youth criminal justice system.
