Bargaining update for Component 3 members of CSSEA employers – talks have wrapped up for the summer

Your BCGEU bargaining committee met with the CSSEA employer group during the week of June 28 to discuss issues related to particular proposals. These meetings helped each side at the bargaining table understand the others’ perspective. Time constraints limited the amount of meeting time.

The CSSEA employer group has broken off talks for the summer, refusing to meet in July and August.

No progress has been made on any significant issues.

Your bargaining committee remains willing to meet with the employer group before September.

The BCGEU is the key player in the CSS Bargaining Association (CSSBA), which bargains on behalf of 15,000 unionized community-based social services workers in B.C. The BCGEU is the lead union at the table.
