Community Health Bargaining Update - Oct 19

The Community Health Bargaining Association met the afternoon of October 18.

As you know, significant progress has already been made in resolving many of the non-monetary issues. Among them the renewal of many Memorandums of Understanding attached to the collective agreement and improvements to the grievance and arbitration provisions.

“Still, there has been little progress on compensation,” said bargaining chair Carla Dempsey. “We’re still working hard on members’ behalf to ensure a fair and reasonable wage offer.”

The Community Health Bargaining Association is continuing to discuss the next steps. We’ll provide members with an update next week.

No new bargaining dates have been scheduled.

The Community Bargaining Association represents more than 14,000 members, the majority of whom are represented by the BCGEU. Other unions at the table are UFCW, HEU, CUPE, HSA, and USWA.
