CSS workers - thanks for all you do!

Tomorrow, November 6, marks Community Social Services Workers Appreciation Day in Canada. This is a new effort by our national union, the National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE), to call attention to the dedicated workforce providing crucial social services to individuals, families and communities across the country.

No doubt there are days – pay days especially - when you may feel under-valued and under-appreciated! The last 10 years in B.C. in particular have been tough on community-based social services workers: collective agreement rights stolen, cuts to services, layoffs, increased workloads and demand for services, stagnating wages and lost benefits.

But, we wanted you to know your hard work and commitment to the people you serve is indeed very much appreciated! So, thank you!
