Please attend an urgent community meeting in your community to discuss how we can ensure the long-term future of our most valuable public resource—our forests.
We need to act now to save what's left of our forest sector. Let's work together to rebuild our forest industry and make our forests healthy once again.
Meeting dates:
- February 12 - Kelowna
- February 13 - Kamloops
- February 25 - 100 Mile House
- February 26 - Williams Lake
- February 27 - Mackenzie
- February 28 - Prince George
- March 6 - Nanaimo
- March 7 - Courtenay & Comox
As you probably know, British Columbia is in the midst of a forestry crisis. More and more raw logs are being shipped overseas. Wood waste is rampant. Mills have closed. Cutbacks in the Ministry of Forests mean fewer front-line workers to conduct research and inventory work and to ensure monitoring, compliance and enforcement. The interests of local communities and First Nations are being sidelined, and good, family-supporting jobs continue to be lost.
We believe that by bringing together concerned members of the community like you, we can end the crisis in our forests. We have to. Our future depends on it.
Meetings are open to everyone, but pre-registration is required.
