Nominations for Bargaining Committee - Eagle Valley Lodge in Sicamous

This notice is a call for nominations for two bargaining committee members.  The two elected members will form the Bargaining Committee, along with myself as the Staff Representative assigned to negotiate your next collective agreement.  As such, NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR TWO BARGAINING COMMITTEE MEMBERS.

Nomination forms must be received at the Kamloops Area Office by close of nominations at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2011.   Completed nomination forms can be mailed to our office at:  BCGEU – 158 Oriole Road, Kamloops, BC V2C 4N7 or faxed to 1-800-946-0250.  Nomination Forms for this purpose are attached, or can be obtained from your Steward or the Kamloops BCGEU Office.  Nomination Forms must be completed in full in order to be accepted.  Only members of the Union can be nominated/elected; if a nominee is not a signed up member, a completed Membership Application Card must accompany the Nomination Form.

If more than two members are nominated, we will proceed with an election immediately after that date.

This round of bargaining will be with the new Employer – the Eagle Valley Senior Citizens' Housing Society(although a manager from inSite will be part of their committee).  Therefore, the next collective agreement will be with Eagle Valley Senior Citizens' Housing Society.

In addition to the above, we will have the two shop stewards distribute bargaining questionnaires to all the members so that we have a clear idea of the members' priorities as we head into bargaining.
