Kamloops Lake City Casino-Notice of vote for Kamloops Bargaining Committee member for next contract negotiations

Your current Collective Agreement expires on September 4, 2010 and preparations are under way to negotiate your Fourth Collective Agreement.

The first step is to elect a Bargaining Committee consisting of one member from each of the four Lake City Casinos facilities. To this end, on February 5, 2010 a notice was distributed calling for nominations with a closing date of February 22, 2010.

Only one nomination was received for the Okanagan facilities and the following have been acclaimed to the Committee: Kelowna - Steve Branston, Penticton - Gale Hazelton, Vernon - Peter Burton.

Two nominations were received for the Kamloops Bargaining Committee Member position and thus a vote must occur. The candidates are: Sharon Kuchuk and Mike Schmidt.

Voting will take place on:
Date: Friday, March 26, 2010
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Place: Traditions Room, Executive Inn

Members can also vote at the BCGEU Area Office on March 29, 30, 31 (8:45 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.) and until 12:00 noon on April 1st at which time the ballot count will commence.

Candidates and/or their designated scrutineers, as well as interested members, are welcome to come to the Area Office at 12:00 noon on April 1st to witness the count. Candidates and members will be notified of the result as soon as possible after the count.
