Release of Boyd Report

SFU criminologist Neil Boyd released his investigation of working conditions in B.C.'s correctional centres at a packed news conference in Victoria yesterday. With him is Component 1 Chair Dean Purdy. Professor Boyd discovered working conditions inside B.C.'s prisons that are "depressing, frightening, appalling" and recommended a return to inmate to staff ratios of 20 to 1.
