The BCGEU represents more than 25,000 members who work directly for the B.C. Government. These members work in a variety of positions including

• Correctional officers and deputy sheriffs;
• Nursing care, personal care, housekeeping, building maintenance, laundry, activities, dietary, security and rehabilitation services at facilities that include Riverview Hospital and Forensic Psychiatric Hospital;
• B.C. Government Liquor store employees;
• Social workers, child protection, probation officers, and system analysts;
• Administrative and support services;
• Biologists, design engineers, conservation officers, laboratory workers, scientific/technical officers, inspectors and planning officers.

We are negotiating the 16th Master Agreement between the BCGEU and the B.C. Government and we have bargaining dates planned through to the end of March 2012.
The 15th Master Agreement, which was signed on May 12, 2010, expires on March 31, 2012.
