End child poverty in B.C.

First Call has released the BC Campaign 2000 Child Poverty Report Card for 2009. B.C. has had the worst child poverty rate in Canada for six years in a row.

November 20 - Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child

November 20 is National Child Day, which marks the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The UNICEF web site has detailed information on how Canada is doing with regards to the UNCRC, and is taking this opportunity to mobilize in favour of a national Children's Commissioner.
