The union provides a number of resources for first-time delegates. Check often for updated resource lists and information for new delegates.

ABOUT THE CONVENTION

BCGEU Constitutional Conventions are held every 3 years to deal with union business, including:

  • Election of Officers
  • Constitutional changes
  • Adoption of policy decisions
  • Adoption of resolutions on external matters
  • Changing the organization. - From minor "housekeeping" adjustments to major constitutional overhauls

At this constitutional convention, delegates will primarily debate resolutions dealing with changes to the union's constitution. Elections will be held for the position of President, Secretary-Treasurer and
4 Vice-Presidents - 2 of which must be women.
