Component 7 - Education, Scientific, Technical and Administration

Members of the ESTA Component work in colleges and institutes as instructors and support staff, in private environmental testing laboratories, and legal services. Employers include community colleges, B.C. Institute of Technology, Open Learning Agency, Justice Institute, private labs, legal services to the public (Legal Services Society, Native Court workers, Family Maintenance Enforcement Program), and court directed services to youth (Pacific Legal Education).

Bargaining Updates

Your Bargaining Committee is pleased to report that the renewal collective agreement ratified by a margin of 66%.

The agreement is for five years and expires March 31, 2019.

As we received more nomination forms than positions available, an election will be held to elect three (3) bargaining committee members.  Candidate statements are attached.

The BCGEU has reached a tentative agreement with Themis Program Management Ltd. The Union is recommending members vote in favour of the agreement.
