Highways Bargaining 2011

Your Collective Agreement is about to expire and your bargaining committee needs your input in order to develop collective bargaining proposals. This particular round of bargaining could prove to be very significant for Highways maintenance workers across the Province. We have just concluded a five-year Collective Agreement and now we are about to enter bargaining with significant obstacles in our way, not the least of which is the current lack of successorship and lack of maintenance contract extensions provisions under the Maintenance Agreement.  It is imperative that you keep in contact with your bargaining committee regarding updates as we move through this round of bargaining.

Please take the time to fill out this questionnaire as this is your primary opportunity to have a direct affect on the collective bargaining process.  Bargaining will start soon and your committee will require the support of all members to find our way through this challenging time ahead.  All information will remain confidential.

In solidarity

Jim Manson, Bargaining Council Chairperson
Gary Bennett, Staff Representative - Negotiations
