MAXXAM EMPLOYEES - JOIN THE BCGEU

Congratulations Maxxam!

The B.C. Government and Service Employees’ Union (BCGEU) is delighted to announce that all employees of Maxxam will now be represented by the BCGEU. The larger group
of former Cantest employees will now have the opportunity to gain the rights and privileges in the Maxxam collective agreement.

After your employer made an application to the Labour Relations Board to have the Maxxam certification with BCGEU cancelled and your collective agreement declared void, the BCGEU was adamant that you have an opportunity to vote and decide for yourselves whether you want to be part of the Maxxam collective agreement.

Instead of dealing with you as a union group represented by your own elected committee and BCGEU staff, your employer preferred to deal with you one on one.

Through the democratic process, Maxxam employees have spoken and your decision is clear: you want to keep the collective agreement. Now all Maxxam employees will be under
a contract and will have the opportunity to benefit from the hard-won advantages in this agreement.

We want to reiterate that for nearly four decades, Maxxam Analytics and the BCGEU have had a positive relationship with the BCGEU representing its employees. The BCGEU is
intent on rebuilding that sense of cooperation between the employer, employees, and the union.

On behalf of the BCGEU and all of its 65,000 members, we would like to congratulate and welcome you all.
