The BCGEU is pleased to announce a new supplementary insurance partnership between AIL Canada and the BCGEU. The BCGEU has negotiated this program with AIL Canada, a 100% wall-to-wall unionized insurance company.
The benefit, effective May 30, 2006, includes the implementation of a “no cost” or obligation to individual BCGEU members of an Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) benefit of $2000.00 for each union member.
Members will be receiving a letter with more detailed information from Secretary Treasurer, Judi Filion, which will outline the specifics of the benefit. (The mailings are scheduled to be sent by geographic location in the province, starting in September/October 2006, January 2007 and April 2007).
AIL is dedicated to providing permanent and portable supplemental benefits to working families across North America, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and New Zealand and has done so for over 50 years. AIL has over 3 million policies covering union members in over 30,000 union locals amounting to over $ 22 billion of life insurance currently in force.
AIL donates hundreds of thousands of dollars to labour movement projects, such as scholarship funding, labour education programs, strike assistance and food banks. Another example of a benefit specifically designed for union members is a waiver on payment of premiums during strike or layoff.
If you are interested in getting more information on this free benefit prior to you receiving your information, or if you are interested in AIL Canada’s products and services, all BCGEU members are invited to visit the AIL-BCGEU page on AIL’s web site, or contact AIL Canada representative Leo Vandenbussche at 1-866-472-0825.
AIL is proud of its affiliation with the labour movement and being a 100% unionized insurance company and looks forward to a long relationship serving the BCGEU and its members. |
