Compass Group Canada LTD. tentative agreement

Your Bargaining Committee is pleased to advise you that a tentative agreement was reached with Compass Group on February 10, 2012.
Highlights of the settlement are:
- A 3 year agreement, expiring March 31, 2015;

Salary increases, as follows:
- 3% (2% on wages plus 1% on RRSP), effective April 1, 2012;
- 3% (2% on wages plus 1% on RRSP), effective April 1, 2013;
- 2%, effective April 1, 2014;
- Additional salary boosts to some classifications at Surrey Pre-trial that fall below the standard enjoyed at the other institutions;
- An additional $.50/hour premium for working in Canteen;
- An increase in the lifetime maximum of the Extended Health Plan from $25,000 to $100,000;
- Changes to the Hours of Work language to increase available hours based on seniority;
- Family Day included as a statutory holiday, effective in 2013;
- Improvements to the Sick Leave language, including the Long Term Disability Plan, to streamline the process and provide information that is easy to understand.
Your committee is recommending acceptance of the tentative agreement.
Details concerning the ratification vote process will be circulated shortly, along with a complete copy of all the changes to the language for your consideration.
