YWCA ongoing negotiations

Your Bargaining Committee met with the Employer's representatives on February 15, 2012. We exchanged proposals and had initial overview discussions about Bargaining. We also agreed on protocol which outlines the procedures and manner in which we will conduct ourselves during negotiations.

As we enter the bargaining process, both your employer and your union are obligated by the Labour Relations Code of British Columbia, to negotiate in good faith. This means that we are not able to answer questions about or disclose specific information to the Membership on any of the discussions that occur during the bargaining process. This applies to the employer’s Bargaining Committee as well. However, we will be sending out communications in this format to update the Membership on how the collective bargaining is progressing.

We have upcoming dates with the Employer on February 21, 23 and 24.  We will provide further updates after those meetings.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact any member of the Committee.

In solidarity
