BCGEU members at Cobra Electric have ratified a new collective agreement, which includes a one-time 16% wage increase as well as a signing bonus. Shift premiums and danger pay have been significantly improved as well. The new contract maintains all health benefits, and includes contracting out protection language. Cobra workers remain in the Provincial Superannuation Pension plan.
There are 10 BCGEU members at Cobra Electric (South Coast). Cobra Electric serves the public and private sectors in the maintenance of traffic management and lighting systems throughout British Columbia. With the contract in place, Cobra Electric believes they have a stable labour relations environment and a fixed cost ability to make a competitive bid for the Government contract in 2012.
The new agreement was ratified on May 19, and expires on January 16th 2013.
