Withdrawl of BCNU raid applications an opportunity to move forward

This week, the BC Nurses Union announced it is withdrawing its raid applications at the Labour Relations Board to represent all Licensed Practical Nurses in B.C., because they don't have enough signed cards to trigger a certification vote.

BCGEU LPNs have sent a clear message that they want to maintain their independence from the conflicting priorities of other nursing groups, and move forward to achieve their professional goals.

I am so grateful for the tireless efforts of health care workers who gave a lot of their personal time to talk to other BCGEU members about the importance of unity and independence for our LPN members.

Now is the time to focus on moving forward to heal divisions created by the raid, and to reach out to BCNU members to repair the working relationship with front line health care workers. I hope you will join me in this effort, as we work to improve health care for all British Columbians.
