BCGEU supports Paramedics at Burnaby rally

SUPPORTING PARAMEDICS -- BCGEU members and staff attended a noon-time rally on January 27 in support of BC paramedics, who were legislated back to work by the BC Liberal government while in the process of voting on the government's last contract offer.

Paramedics have extremely limited options for job action, as they are covered by essential services legislation, and the BC government refuses to accept arbitration as a way to resolve the bargaining duspute. Meanwhile, service levels and response times across the province continue to suffer from a lack of adequate funding from the provincial government.
