Workload issues: Stephanie Smith wants to hear from you

June 16, 2014

Please accept this invitation to join our newly elected BCGEU President Stephanie Smith and other union members for a meeting in Castlegar on Monday, July 7th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the BCGEU Castlegar Area Office, 2316 Columbia Avenue, Castlegar.

We need your valuable input as the union continues to build our province-wide campaign – Children at Risk – supporting the critical work of social workers, EAWs, administrative staff, and frontline community-based social service workers.

BCGEU members in the Ministry of Social Development and Social Innovation (MSDSI), the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and many community-based social service agencies are facing overwhelming working conditions that sometimes can endanger the vulnerable clients they mean to serve.
Your union leadership is committed to bringing issues such as ICM to the ministries and to government.  Please come out with your ideas. Members will be encouraged to identify the issues that concern them the most at work, and we will exchange our ideas of what needs to change.
