Protrans BC engineering shift bid
Further to the Union's communication dated November 9, 2011, the Engineering Shift Bid process will be going ahead this week. The Parties have agreed to the process outlined by Management for the shift bid. As you are aware, the Union does not agree with the staffing reduction for statutory holidays in 2012, but this is being treated as a separate issue. This means that all members in Engineering should bid on the shift that they want per the process circulated by Management.
The Union has filed a grievance on behalf of all affected members in the bargaining unit on the statutory holiday issue. We have filed our application to the Labour Relations Board for a Settlement Officer to help resolve the issue. Once we have a date set, the Union will inform the members.
