Two-day BCGEU bargaining conference underway
1 Dec '11
The BCGEU’s bargaining conference kicked off today, December 1, in Burnaby. BCGEU President Darryl Walker opened the conference with remarks centred around securing fair collective agreements amid B.C.’s economic challenges.
Delegates will use their time at the conference to determine the BCGEU’s bargaining priorities in 2012.
In addition to B.C. government employees' bargaining, which begins in Vancouver on January 10, 2012, tens of thousands of BCGEU members who work in health, education, highways and community social services and other sectors will also be negotiating new deals in 2012.
