Victoria Native Friendship Centre tentative agreement reached

Your Bargaining Committee is pleased to advise that a tentative agreement has been reached at the Victoria Native Friendship Centre.  Details of the agreement are listed below:

1.5  Bullying/Personal Harassment

(3)     Any behaviour that intimidates, threatens and humiliates another person (employee, contractor, visitor, client) will not be tolerated.
(4)      Reprisal/retaliation from anyone in the workplace (employee or management) in response to harassment/bullying or after a complaint has been made is serious and will not be tolerated.
(5)      Anyone who has reasonable cause to believe that they have been subjected to harassment/bullying are to report the matter immediately to the management to have the report investigated and whatever corrective action required to be taken to correct the situation.

13.3 Layoff Notice 
   (a) The Employer will give notice where reasonably possible in accordance with the following formula:

(1)      one (1) week's notice after three (3) consecutive months of employment and/or pay in lieu of notice after three consecutive months of employment;
(2)      two (2) weeks' notice after twelve (12) consecutive months of employment and/or pay in lieu of notice after three consecutive months of employment;
(3)      three (3) weeks' notice after three consecutive years of employment, plus one additional week for each year of employment, to a maximum of eight (8) weeks' notice and/or pay in lieu of notice after three consecutive months of employment;

26.1  Duration
This Agreement shall be binding and remain in effect to midnight October 1, 2012.

26.2 Notice to Bargain

(b) This Agreement may be opened for collective bargaining by either party giving written notice to the other party on or after August 1, 2012, but in any event not later than midnight, September 30, 2012.(c)  Where no notice is given by either party prior to February 16, 2011, both parties shall be deemed to have been given notice under this article on September 30, 2012, and thereupon Clause 26.3 of this Agreement applies.
