YMCA child care centres bargaining update

Your Bargaining Committee has reached a Tentative Agreement with YMCA Child Care.  The summary below represents the positive changes to your Collective Agreement and your Bargaining Committee is recommending ratification.

You will be notified of the full changes to the agreement and you will be asked to vote during the ratification process in January.

Highlights

  • Three year agreement expiring December 31, 2014
  • Improved new employee union information
  • Agreement to expanded agenda for Labour Management
  • Hours of work LOU for Appendix 2 employees incorporated into the Collective Agreement
  • Language for hiring and certification of new employees

Monetary Settlement
Cash signing bonus:

  • $750 Full-time
  • $450 Part-time over 24 hours
  • $300 Part-time Other (separate cheques)

Wages:

  • January 1, 2012 – 2%
  • January 1, 2013 – 2%
  • January 1, 2014 – 2.25%
