Post secondary bargaining update

NOTE: Both the Instructors and Support Staff sectors are currently negotiating or ratifying contracts which expired in 2010, which fall under the BC government's 'net zero' mandate. No dates for bargaining under the 2012 mandate have yet been set.

Colleges and Institutions Instructors

Local bargaining committees are in process of organizing ratification votes on the 'common table' agreement, along with local agreements, from the December round of bargaining.

No new 2012 dates set for faculty/instructors yet.

Colleges and Institutions Support Staff

Talks in this sector will reconvene on February 21st and 22nd, when the parties have agreed to return to the bargaining table.  The government imposed net-zero mandate for the current round of bargaining, and the refusal by local employers to make meaningful changes to the local agreements had previously resulted in a stalemate.  Bargaining in this sector is conducted jointly with the BCGEU and CUPE.
