Oak Bay Council rejects variance application for Oak Bay Lodge redevelopment – future of proposal unknown

In a 3-2 decision last night, Oak Bay Council voted against a development variance application related to the proposed redevelopment of Oak Bay Lodge. The application was for height and parking variances at the current location at 2251 Cadboro Bay Road.

The decision was handed down after midnight following a hearing lasting four and a half hours. As a result of the decision, the status of the Oak Bay Lodge redevelopment is unclear.
