Unions Win the End to Punitive Measures in VCHA Attendance Management Program

The WCB has recently implemented a new Exposure Registry Program. Workers who have been exposed to a hazardous substance at work may be at risk of occupational disease and should file with the program.

WCB inspections find violations at B.C. correctional centres, orders issued

The WCB has begun an inspection of all provincial correctional facilities. 

These in-depth inspections are being conducted by a specially trained group of WCB officers and last two to three days per facility and include interviews with Correctional Officers. Read more »

Representatives from the BCGEU and LifeLabs will meet tomorrow at the Labour Relations Board in Vancouver.

BCGEU members at LifeLabs issue 72 hour strike notice

BCGEU members are set to begin job action in the coming days at LifeLabs facilities around B.C. LifeLabs provides laboratory testing for doctors.

The union will be in a legal position to strike at 6:00 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2013.

Job action will target Patient Service Centres, LifeLabs’ test and blood collection sites, on a rotating basis. Read more »
