It has come to your Union's attention that there may be some confusion in respect to attending investigation and Step 1 meetings with members.
2.6 Recognition and Rights of Stewards
(c) A steward, or their alternate, shall obtain the permission of their immediate supervisor before leaving their work to perform their duties as a steward. Leave for this purpose shall be with pay. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. On resuming their normal duties, the steward shall notify their supervisor.
When attending a meeting with a member as their Union representation, Stewards will be paid at straight-time rates. Your Manager should contact the LDB HR department if they are unsure how to code your leave.
