Administrative services member appreciation campaign launches during annual administrative services recognition week (April 24 – 28) - BCGEU

There’s no better week than this to launch our UNSUNG SUPERSTARS campaign for BCGEU members in our administrative services component, AKA component 12. We’re more than 10,000 strong and represent a large sector of the union’s membership.

This year, we’re doing more than JUST recognizing and acknowledging the important role administrative services workers play. Over the next several months, we’ll be introducing you to component members from around the province — administrative workers who do a variety of jobs, and who’ve earned the esteem of their co-workers.

UNSUNG SUPERSTARS is a campaign aimed at celebrating our colleagues who always go above and beyond the call of duty. The people who too frequently go unrecognized and under-appreciated for being the glue that holds worksites together. Workplaces wouldn’t function without them.

We’re asking component 12 members to nominate a co-worker who deserves recognition. We'll profile the person with a write-up and photo our website and social media. The UNSUNG SUPERSTAR will receive a special token of our appreciation.

  • Find out more about the UNSUNG SUPERSTARS campaign, nominate a co-worker and meet the nominees here.

The website has a resource page with a campaign poster you can download, print and post on your office message board. We also have speaking notes you can use to explain the campaign to a co-worker you’d like to nominate.

Component 12 leaders (who are also members) will be fanning out to workplaces this week to meet as many of you as possible.

Administrative services recognition week is your week. Celebrate your role in delivering important services to British Columbians and your clients. You are valued and respected.

In solidarity,

Maria Middlemiss, Component 12 Vice-President
