Notice to Bargain
The BCGEU recently gave formal notice to the employer to commence the bargaining process, because the current collective agreement expires on March 31, 2016. Of course your collective agreement remains in full force and effect until a new agreement is negotiated and presented to you for a ratification vote.
Elect your Bargaining Committee
There are three (3) positions for the BCGEU Bargaining Committee available. Nominate who you think would be your best representatives for bargaining, or, if you are interested in serving on the Committee, have a co-worker nominate you. Please ensure the attached nomination form is signed by both the nominee and the nominator, and submitted by the deadline noted below. If there are more nominees than positions, then an election will be held. The Bargaining Committee Chairperson will be elected at a future membership meeting.
Fill out Your Bargaining Survey – We Want to Hear From You!
This is your opportunity to have a say in the terms and conditions in your collective agreement. It is really important that every BCGEU member fill out the attached bargaining survey because this allows your Bargaining Committee to develop its bargaining priorities. Please take the time to fill out the survey, so the Bargaining Committee knows what is most important to you.
