The Union recently conducted bargaining committee elections at Lake City Casino Kelowna, and Cascades Casino Penticton. On November 24^th the ballots were counted, and the following nominees were elected.

· Gayle Furgala/ Lake City Casino Kelowna

· Bryan Woodard/ Cascades Casino Penticton

Gayle and Bryan will join bargaining unit chair Mike Schmidt (Cascades Casino Kamloops) and committee member Erwin Ruf (Lake City Casino Vernon) when bargaining begins in the near future. Congratulations Gayle and Bryan!

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the other candidates who accepted their nominations, and ran for election. Many thanks for your participation.

In the coming days, your new bargaining committee will be working with BCGEU Staff Negotiator Chad McQuarrie, preparing themselves for upcoming collective agreement negotiations with your Employer. In the meantime, your current collective agreement remains in full force and effect until a new one has been ratified by the membership.

Finally, bargaining surveys are set to be sent to members next week. This will be your opportunity to tell your committee what improvement and changes you would like to see in your new collective agreement. Your input is vital. The survey will only take a minute or two to fill out, and will help guide your committee on what their bargaining priorities should be.
