Your 2019 Bargaining Committee has been busy preparing to negotiate our next Collective Agreement. Our current collective agreement with our Employer expires on June 30, 2019. Since early February this year, the Committee has met for a total of ten days of bargaining preparations, in which we:
- Reviewed your submitted Bargaining Survey results to better understand your priorities and guide our work. 90 surveys were received from Commission members across all offices so thank you for your valued input!
- Evaluated the entire existing collective agreement and identified sections to propose improvements or appropriate updates.
- Assessed other collective agreements, benefit plans, and various supporting materials to evaluate against our current agreement and proposals.
- Brainstormed new proposals and ideas to bring forward to the negotiating table, including both monetary and non-monetary initiatives.
The initial round of bargaining with the Employer is
scheduled for July 15 - 19, 2019 in Fort St John.
As we countdown towards the Bargaining sessions, we encourage you to still reach out to your Bargaining Committee Members if you have any additional ideas, suggestions, or questions. It is important to continue to share opinions and ideas so we can work together and support improvements in our careers and workplace.
To help ensure you receive a copy of bargaining updates please provide a personal email address to the BCGEU at http://www.bcgeu.ca/update. If we already have an email address on file for you and you wish to edit or update any of your existing contact information, you can use the same form.
