The BC Government & Service Employees' Union (BCGEU) welcomes the extensive findings published in a report today by the B.C. Ombudsperson – Misfire: The 2012 Ministry of Health Employment Terminations and Related Matters. We will be reviewing the report in depth over the coming period to consider how best the BCGEU can assist in the implementation of its recommendations in order to create positive change for our members.
We particularly welcome the recommendations the B.C. Ombudsperson has made on investigatory processes. We look forward to a discussion towards making improvements in this area as we are, as always, in favour of increasing fairness for workers.
We will also be reaching out to government and the Ombudsperson to further discuss the recommendations that relate to the BCGEU and our members.
