BGIS Workplace Solutions Inc. - Nominations for WSI Bargaining Committee - BCGEU

Nominations are now open for the bargaining committee for the upcoming round of collective agreement negotiations with the Employer. Members elect a bargaining committee to work with Union Staff Representatives and other elected leaders to help ensure members' voices are heard and interests are protected and advanced through the bargaining process.

To provide members with regional representation on the committee roughly proportionate to regional membership numbers, and to reflect the Union's regional structure, the committee will consist of the following positions for which nomination are now being sought:

  • Vancouver Island (BCGEU Region 1 / Areas 01 & 02) – Two (2) Members
  • Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley (BCGEU Region 2 / Areas 03 & 04) – Two (2) Members
  • Southern Interior (BCGEU Region 3 / Areas 05, 07, 08 & 09) – One (1) Member
  • Northern (BCGEU Region 4 / Areas 06, 10, 11 & 12) – One (1) Member

The deadline for nominations is Monday, March 25, 2019 at 9 a.m.

Candidates may submit one page of information (8 ½" x 11", black and white) that will be distributed to members with ballots and posted on the BCGEU website if an election is required. The deadline for submitting candidate information is Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 9 a.m.

The bargaining committee chair will be elected by and from the members elected to the committee.

Members will be invited to participate in a survey to provide input to the bargaining committee on bargaining priorities. To help ensure all members receive the survey and bargaining updates, members are asked to provide a personal email address and any contact information updates to the BCGEU at www.bcgeu.ca/update.
