It is with great sadness that the BCGEU announces the passing of Kirby Tott, who worked as a correctional officer at the Prince George Regional Correctional Centre.

Kirby was serving as a military reservist at Shilo Manitoba when he collapsed during a training exercise on Saturday, July 25, and did not recover.

The BCGEU extends our deepest heartfelt condolences to Kirby’s family and those who knew and worked with him. Kirby’s father is Craig Tott, who serves as 2nd vice chair of Local 111 of the Corrections and Sheriff Services component. Kirby’s mother Michelle is a BCGEU member of Local 511.
