SPECIAL 1-DAY STEWARDS' TRAINING COURSE FOR LOCAL 0105 – October 6, 2015 REGISTRATION DEADLINE September 17, 2015 |

PLACE: BCGEU Area Office Training Centre, 158 Oriole Road, Kamloops
We are holding a special 1-day Stewards' Training course for the stewards in Component 1, Local 0105. Lunch will be provided.
You must register for this course using this registration form (please click here for form) and return it to Kamloops Area Office at:

A letter confirming your registration and providing further details of the Course and your required LOA will be mailed to you shortly thereafter.
Expenses: Expenses which you would not otherwise have incurred (ie, mileage in excess of normal to and from work, meals not eaten at home, extra child care, etcetera) may be claimed in accordance with the allowances indicated on the Union's Expense Claim Form. If an advance is required, please contact the BCGEU Area Office as soon as possible. Out-of-town Stewards who choose to stay with family or friends may be eligible to claim the Private Dwelling Accommodation Allowance. Those who are eligible for hotel accommodation may have reservations made on their behalf with the cost direct-billed to the Union.
Leave From Work to Attend: If time off work is necessary, the Union will provide you with a Union-paid Leave of Absence Application Form based on the information you provide on the attached registration form.
Be sure to obtain verbal approval to attend the course from your supervisor as soon as possible and provide the employer with the paperwork when you receive it.
The Union does not reimburse for lost overtime opportunities or pay additional wages if the Course is on a member's day(s) off. Auxiliary or on-call Stewards should let their scheduler know that, should work become available, the Steward should be notified so that the Union office can be contacted and a Union-paid Leave of Absence Form obtained. The Steward should incur no loss of earnings.
No Scents Policy: It is the Union's policy to provide a "scent-free" environment at all of its functions, please refrain from wearing perfumes, colognes or scented products while attending this training. Thank you.
