DELAYS IN PAYMENT OF BACK WAGES OWED TO GOVERNMENT WORKERS ARE UNACCEPTABLE
The union sent a letter to the government's chief negotiator today telling the Public Service Agency that no further delays will be tolerated. Members must have their owed back wages by the next pay day (February 15) or the union will file a policy grievance and will seek back wages, interest and damages for the unreasonable period of delay that has already passed.
The vast majority of members have received the money owed to them. However, for those members who are in receipt of temporary market or classification adjustments, they remain out of pocket for their retro monies. That situation is simply unacceptable.
