Did you know that as a casual you may be eligible for benefits? According to Article 29.9:
"Upon completion of 180 hours of work, casual employees shall be given the option to enrol in the following plans:
Article 25.1 - BC Medical Plan
Article 25.2 - Dental Plan
Article 25.3 - Extended Health Plan
An employee who makes an election under this provision must enrol in each and every of the benefit plans and shall not be entitled to except any of them"
Once enrolled, the premium costs will be deducted from your paycheque.
If you post into a position that is 6 months or longer, the benefits are then paid by the employer.
If you have any questions, please contact your steward.
In solidarity,
Reagan Belan
Staff Representative
