Who negotiates the Community Health sectoral agreement?
The Community Health sectoral agreement is negotiated by the Community Bargaining Association (CBA) and the Health Employers Association of BC (HEABC).
The CBA is a multi-union association, with the BCGEU as lead.
How many workers total are covered by the Community Health sectoral (CBA) agreement?
About 21,000 are covered by the CBA agreement, of which 12,500 are BCGEU members and 8,500 are members belonging to other unions including UFCW, HEU, HSA, CUPE, USW and BCNU.
What kind of jobs do community health workers do?
Workers in the community health sector work in home support, drug and alcohol treatment centres, adult day care, detox and emergency shelters, women's clinics, services to seniors, mental health group homes, regional health units, administrative support and in other community-based health services across the province.
