Welcome to our Community Social Services bargaining hub!

The current collective agreement for BCGEU members working in the Community Social Services sector expired March 31, 2025. Negotiations for a new collective agreement with the Community Social Services Employers’ Association (CSSEA) begin May 12, 2025.

We are seeking meaningful wage and health benefit improvements and new shift premiums for night, weekend and evening work, and our bargaining committee is focused on making progress on these issues.  

B.C.’s Community Social Services sector has been grossly underfunded and undervalued for decades. Shameful political decisions by previous governments have cost us greatly. This round of bargaining is about continuing our fight for full pay equity with workers in the health and public sector - building on the gains we've made over multiple rounds of bargaining.
