This is to advise that BCGEU Stewards' Training has been scheduled for:

Leave of Absence Forms will be provided for you. This means that the Union will pay your Employer for you to attend this training.  Please provide the necessary information on the enclosed Registration Form and FAX back to this office (250) 785-0048 or Toll Free Fax 1-800-946-0255 as soon as possible and no later than Tuesday April 7th, 2015, in order that these Leave of Absence requests may be processed immediately. A copy will be faxed back to you with your confirmation and the original will be forwarded to you via mail.

Please be advised that as a result of recent changes to the Local 104 Chairperson ballot (withdrawal of candidate), and a number of ballots not being received at the worksites, elections for ALL Local 104 Executive positions have been extended to March 20, 2015, in order that members are given sufficient opportunity to vote.

The B.C. Liberal government has tabled a budget and fiscal plan for 2015/16 – 2017/18 which adheres strongly to two of three stated values: “discipline” and “prudence”—but less so to the third, “vision.” Budget 2015/16 again prioritizes fiscal “balance” above all else, in many ways continuing to neglect the real needs of families, as well as required investments in effective and accessible public services, and the protection of our natural environment and resources.
