Public safety minister addresses violence in Oliver jail - BCGEU

Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General Mike Farnworth says the Okanagan Correctional Centre is no different than any other prison when it comes to violence and contraband. It has been just over one year since the Okanagan Correctional Centre (OCC) near Oliver started accepting inmates, and while it's a state-of-the-art facility, it hasn't escaped traditional jailhouse problems. Unionized workers at Coquitlam's Hard Rock Casino have voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action.
