Further to the close of nominations on April 5, 2019, we are pleased to inform you that Myke Labelle has been acclaimed to one of the two vacant Member-at-Large positions. BCGEU president Stephanie Smith draws on her experience as an early childhood educator to explain her frustration with the debate over a pay increase that's only going to unionized workers in the community social services sector. Join us at Day of Mourning ceremonies across B.C. - BCGEU
BCGEU members from communities around our province will be attending Day of Mourning events on April 28th. Some will be there to honour and remember their co-workers and family members. Some will attend to show solidarity with those who have been affected by the death of a worker. The provincial government will be lowering flags on all provincial government buildings to honour the day.

Upcoming worksite visits in Fort Nelson - BCGEU
The Area 10 Cross Component Committee will be in Fort Nelson on the afternoon of May 2, 2019 conducting worksite visits. The purpose of the worksite visits are to meet members in the worksite; show our appreciation of all of your hard work; hear your stories; and have an opportunity to share current campaigns with you.
