Duncan (Arcadian) Day Care Centre ratification of collective agreement
Good afternoon,
The members have ratified a three (3) year agreement with the Employer.
There are no changes to the language in the agreement.
There is an increase of wages over a three (3) year term:
September 1, 2016 1% increase
September 1, 2017 1% increase
September 1, 2018 1% increase
The collective agreement expires on August 31, 2019.

Nanaimo area women’s services workers go on strike
Faced with no movement in negotiations around an unworkable shift schedule, employees of the Island Crisis Care Society (ICCS) have gone on strike starting Tuesday, February 8. The employees, members of the B.C. Government and Service Employees’ Union (BCGEU), authorized the strike through a vote in November.

Community Social Services Wage Increases to Take Effect on April 1, 2016
We’re happy to announce that on April 1, 2016, the first of three compensation comparability wage increases for Community Social Services (CSS) workers will take effect.
