As part of the last 17^th Master Agreement, which expires on March 31, 2019, BCGEU members in direct government service receive annual wage increases as prescribed by the Economic Stability Dividend (ESD), which is tied to British Columbia's economic growth over the past year.

The final ESD payment of the 17^th Master Agreement came into effect on February 3, 2019. The 18^th Public Service Agreement, with the new negotiated salary improvements is scheduled to come into effect on April 1, 2019. The ESD is not included in the 18^th Public Service Agreement.
