While your bargaining committee was hopeful that we would be able to reach a tentative renewal agreement to bring back for you to vote on after the last day of mediation at the end of November, 2017, we were unable to do so. We will be meeting with the Employer and the Labour Relations Board's Director of Mediation, Labour Relations to negotiate essential service levels on January 10th and 11th. The Employer has agreed to an extension of our strike mandate to March 17, 2018 to allow this process to be completed. Should it become necessary to take strike action, meetings will be scheduled to provide strike registration and training before that date.
